You may need to have a prescription from your Veterinarian to indicate they feel myotherapy is necessary for your dog.

Lisa is very willing to work under a model with any Veterinarian who wishes to prescribe the care plan and function in an indirect supervisory relationship to support clients together.

Yes! Lisa can work with you on strategies to implement before, after and between events to support your dog's long term musculoskeletal health.

Lisa was trained in the UK where Veterinary consent is mandatory and overrides Guardian consent. She has decided to continue this aspect of consent in Canada to ensure she is practicing as is required to maintain her Galen Myotherapist certification standards.

She also believes it is in the best interests of both you and your dog to have a fulsome circle of care with collaboration and communication.

*Virtual wellness packages do not require Veterinary consent because the Guardian is implementing the recommendations and interventions themselves. It is still highly recommended to include your Veterinarian in all health and wellness decisions for your dog.

Lisa lives in Elmvale and will travel within about a 20 minute radius of the area including Midland, North/East Barrie, Midhurst, Wasaga Beach, Hillsdale. Outside of this region she will provide you with a mileage rate add-on prior to booking.

We recommend three appointments within a 4-6 week initial period to introduce a dog to this form of complementary healthcare. This is to ensure the dog has enough time to gain Lisa's trust and to allow their body to respond to the changes that occur as a result of myotherapy. No animal care provider should every guarantee results and Lisa is not able to do that either. Every situation is different and there are a significant number of variables between dogs and their guardians.

Lisa would NOT recommend manual therapy such as massage/myotherapy for dogs that do not like to be touched. However, she would recommend a Discovery Call. As an experienced Pet Dog Trainer who understands canine behaviour, she may have some suggestions for other options that would be helpful for you.

There are a few reasons for this:

1. She is managing her schedule to ensure that she can travel from location to location in time for each appointment.

2. She wants to ensure this type of service is a good option for your situation and that you have a good understanding of your dog's current health.

While this will vary from case to case, you can typically expect the following:

1. Photograph your dog from different angles and in any harnesses you use.

2. Video your dog walking on leash.

3. Ask questions about home environment (i.e. walking surface), current physical activities, injury history etc.

4. If your dog will allow, she will conduct a brief manual assessment looking for areas of inflammation and tissue restriction.

5. Send you home with a Galen Comfort Scale assessment questionnaire to complete over the next 5-7 days.

*In situations where Guardians are comfortable completing photos, video and other assessment forms in advance of the visit, Lisa can spend more time building trust with the dog at the initial visit.
